When we received the order from the Municipality of Ventimiglia mandating the cessation of sales of industrial hemp inflorescences, our first reaction was surprise.

Not because we were unaware of the complex period the sector is going through, but because we were convinced that we had always operated in compliance with the law.

The feeling was that we were subjected to a measure that, in our assessment, did not adequately consider the characteristics of the products marketed or the existing legal framework.

Why we decided to appeal

Many have asked us why we didn't simply close the store or stop selling the inflorescences.

The answer is simple.

We had made a significant financial investment and felt it was right to defend our work.

When an entrepreneur is convinced that they have operated correctly, we believe the path to follow is that provided by the rule of law: to turn to the courts.

That is why we decided to appeal the measure before the Liguria Regional Administrative Court (TAR).

Not to challenge institutions.

But to ask a judge to assess the correctness of the situation.

The TAR's decision

In recent days, an initial response has arrived.

The Liguria Regional Administrative Court (TAR) accepted our precautionary request, suspending the effects of the municipal measure pending the decision in the main case.

It is important to be clear on this point.

This is not yet the final judgment.

The proceedings are still ongoing, and the judgment on the merits will definitively establish the legitimacy of the challenged measure.

However, the precautionary decision represents a significant step because the Court found that there were grounds to temporarily suspend the effects of the ordinance.

How we felt

When we received the news, we felt deeply satisfied.

Not so much because we consider this a definitive victory, but because it strengthened the trust we have always had in the Italian judicial system.

From day one, we chose to address this matter through the appropriate channels, without fueling controversy and without seeking shortcuts.

When one is convinced that they have operated in accordance with the law, we believe it is right to trust the judges.

A message for the entire sector

We chose not to let uncertainty paralyze us.

The proceedings before the TAR are not concluded.

In the coming months, the judgment will continue until the decision on the merits.
